Lovingkindness
I saw God in my day today as He reminded me gently to offer lovingkindness to myself. I had the opportunity to be around beautiful women outside and especially inside recently. We were gathered and creating a painting project. These women were making beautiful creations and yet I heard repeatedly "Oh I can't do that, I'm not talented enough." or "It doesn't look good." or "I messed it all up." I was deeply saddened because these ladies who are so talented, generous and loving were not loving themselves. So I invite you this week to stop apologizing for imperfections and instead give yourself some lovingkindness.
I learned in Yoga Teacher Training that as individuals we tell ourselves "we should do this and we should do that. But don't should all over yourself." That resonated with my because I have and sometimes am my own worst critic. But we are not meant to be perfect. And I see you beautiful souls always showing up, giving your very best efforts and loving others. So let's be kind to ourselves. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt, do your best and leave the judgement behind. Life is not about what others think of you. It's about what God thinks of you. Do your best and let the rest go. Namaste.
