GRATITUDE

I saw God today in my yoga practice as we cultivated a deep sense of gratitude. A most wonderful fact of gratitude that has blessed me as others have researched and shared is that the more we feel gratitude consistently the more we will be able to see things we are grateful for. Research has shown that when we think positively or with gratitude or focus on the good in your life, your brain literally retires itself to look for more good or more gratitude.

I’d like to share a beautiful scripture on gratitude with you: Psalms 118:24 -“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” “No matter our circumstances, no matter our challenges or trials, there is something in each day to embrace and cherish. There is something in each day that can bring gratitude and joy if only we will see and appreciate it.” -President Uchtdorf

I love the part where he says embrace it. I know that yoga helps me to do this. Specifically when invited to set an intention for my practice or for my day ahead off the mat. I can set an intention to see things I am grateful for, to embrace things I am grateful for in each day.
