CHASING

Have you ever been chasing a dream, an idea, a hope, only to have it elude you further? I began my yoga journey because I enjoyed the challenge of pushing my body to see what it could do. I desired to be like the yogi’s I was taught by. It was only when I let go, or rather altered my intentions of my yoga practice that poses which were elusive came naturally. They became easier. It was pleasantly surprising when I hadn’t practiced several asanas for many months to have them come up in a practice and I would say to myself “I’ll give it my best.” To find that I achieved the correct form and breathing in the asana. I was overjoyed with the new evolutions.

Likewise I have wanted to become a more committed disciple of Jesus Christ. In the beginning I was chasing this ideal, even forcing it. When I let go and changed my intention I began to see miracles. God strengthened me to be outgoing, to have the desire to socialize with others. Sharing the gospel came from a place of love for all of His children, that they may experience the joy and peace that I feel because of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Sharing became more easy and natural just as the yoga asanas.
