GROWING

 to continue my story....

Here are some things others said with comfort intended but not so received:

"This little baby only needed to come to earth for this short amount of time."

"There will be other babies."

"This is just one of those things you have to accept."

"These things happen, we don't know why."

"The baby wasn't developing right, what a blessing you had a miscarriage."

But, through this journey I have found some healing quotes:

"Shame dies when stories are told in safe places." -Ann Voskamp

"Mourning is one of the deepest expressions of pure love." President Russell M. Nelson

"The Lord take many away, even in infancy, that they may escape the envy of man, and the sorrows and evils of this present world; they were too pure, too lovely, to live on earth; therefore, if rightly considered, instead of mourning we have reason to rejoice as they are delivered from evil, and we shall soon have them again." -Joseph Smith

"Growth means change and change involves risks, stepping from the known to the unknown." -George Shinn

"Because I live, ye shall live also." -Shayne M. Bowen

"I would like to speak to those who have lost a child and have asked the question, "why me?" or maybe even questioned your own faith in a loving Father in Heaven. It is my prayer that by the power of the Holy Ghost, I may bring some measure of hope, of peace, and of understanding. It is my desire to be an instrument in bringing about a restoration of your faith in our loving Father in Heaven, who knows all things and allows us to experience trials so we can come to know and love Him and understand that without Him we have nothing." -Shayne M. Bowen

"I know that while not all circumstances turn out like we may hope and pray for, God's miracles will always come according to His will, His timing, and His plan for us." -Shayne M. Bowen

"In the moment, cliche answers can be unhelpful, however comforting their intent. Sometimes we yearn for someone who will grieve, ache, and weep with us; let us express pain, frustration, sometimes even anger; and acknowledge with us there are things we do not know." -Elder Gong
